"Most Valuable Student" Competition
Applications for the Elks National Foundation's 2010-2011 Most Valuable Student contest became available on September 7, 2011 at Lima Elks Lodge # 54, and online at www.elks.org/enf/scholars. Applications are due December 1, 2011, at the Lodge closest to where the student lives. Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.
Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. College students are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; resident alien status does not qualify.
Applicants are judged on financial need, leadership and scholarship.
Applications must advance through local, district and state competition and are judged at each level. At the local level Lima Lodge No. 54 will be awarding six $2000.00 scholarship awards three to boys and three to girls. High school seniors planning on attending a college or university are encouraged to apply. Local winners will compete with others selected through out the state for additional awards.
